Program Presenter

Program Presenters perform various educational demonstrations and programs for the museum and outreach visitors.? This will include delivering educational programs to scout groups, school groups, offsite classrooms to Flint, Pontiac, Southfield, and Detroit, birthday parties, and individual museum visitors. Explain basic science principles illustrated in the exhibitions or class material and perform demonstrations and/or facilitate program content in the museum or for offsite programs. Assist visitors of all ages with learning techniques, including procedures for experiments, hands-on exhibit interactives, or other activities. Be responsible for the daily care and maintenance of equipment used. Will facilitate offsite programs which require driving a CIS vehicle. Deliver programs at the museum which include occasional evening, holiday, and weekend hours. Document to-do lists and action plans; leaves a clear paper/electronic trail that others can follow and is accessible by Visitor Experience leadership team. Track and complete timesheet. Maintain attendance, punctuality and performance standards set forth in Cranbrook?s employee handbook. Other duties as assigned.?

Requirements: A High School Diploma or GED required.??Completed college level science, social science or education courses a plus. Experience working with children and adults in a formal or informal setting. Mature and professional attitude; reliable. Enthusiasm for the subject and an eagerness to share that enthusiasm with learners of all ages. Experience with upper elementary and middle school students preferred. Knowledge of one or more areas of science is preferred. A valid driver?s license with satisfactory driving record is required.?There are multiple openings to be filled for these grant-funded positions, that are anticipated to run through June 30, 2019.?Positions will work over 30 hours per week.?Schedules for Program Presenters will vary, and may require weekend, holiday, and/or evening assignment.??Work hours will vary but could begin as early as 5:00 am or run to as late as 11pm.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
