The mission of the Horizons-Upward Bound program is to prepare students who have limited opportunities from the Detroit Metropolitan area to enter and succeed in post-secondary education.
HUB academically supports the efforts of the students' home school by providing services that assist students in pursuing and achieving their dreams and goals for their academic endeavors and beyond.
Cranbrook's Horizons-Upward Bound (HUB) program is currently seeking a Nurse to join our Summer Team for the summer program that runs June 23 - August 3, 2024.

We are seeking staff with a desire to set high expectations, deliver exceptional learning experiences, and a commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of our students.
The HUB Summer Nurse will be invited but not required to attend Professional Development from June 17 - June 21.
This is a temporary position ending on August 3, 2024.
The Horizons-Upward Bound Nurse position is a temporary position during the TRIO Horizons-Upward Bound Summer Component for students rising in grades 9 - 12.
The program runs Monday - Friday.
The nursing hours are flexible between 8:
00 am and 6:
00 pm.
Specific hours will be worked out prior to hiring.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Promote and provide healthcare maintenance through compliance with federal and state laws, state licenses, association accreditation, and institutional policies.
Maintain and operate the health center in an efficient and professional manner.
Assess and evaluate injuries or illnesses and provide CPR and first-aid treatment.
Dispense over-the-counter medication and/or refer to parent and physician as necessary.
Dispense daily medications.
Required
Qualifications:
Proof of Michigan License as an N.
required.
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preferred, with at least two years of Public Health, pediatric, or school nursing experience recommended.
Physical assessment skills are mandatory.
Experience with databases that include medical information required.
Valid Michigan driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
Positive attitude and the ability to work effectively with and display sensitivity toward a diverse community of students.
The ability to be a team player is required.
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with low-income and first-generation students.
Special consideration will be given to former students of any TRIO program.
Demonstrates professionalism and behaves in accordance with Cranbrook's mission, goals, and values.
Exhibits flexibility and willingness to learn.
Starting rate of pay is $32.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
