We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Emergency Coordinator to join our team.
The Emergency Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our emergency services department within our multi-specialty veterinary hospital.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the emergency services department, including staffing, scheduling, and workflow management.
Act as the primary point of contact for all emergency cases, ensuring timely and appropriate triage, assessment, and treatment.
Collaborate with veterinary specialists, technicians, and support staff to provide comprehensive care to emergency patients.
Maintain accurate records of patient cases, treatments, and outcomes.
Implement and enforce hospital protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
Train and mentor staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge in emergency medicine and critical care.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate supplies and equipment are available for emergency cases.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of new protocols and procedures.
Provide compassionate support and communication to pet owners during emergency situations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in veterinary technology, animal science, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting, with a focus on emergency medicine and critical care.
Ideal candidate would have prior management experience Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or equivalent certification preferred.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
Proficiency in veterinary medical terminology and computerized medical records systems.
Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, with a commitment to delivering high-quality care in emergency situations.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
Proposed schedule is working Sunday through Wednesday 2PM - 12AM.
