Position Overview:
As the Accounting Manager you will play a crucial role in overseeing financial functions, ensuring compliance, and driving financial efficiency across our multi-state operations.
This role requires a seasoned accounting professional with a track record of success in retail and a deep understanding of multi-state financial operations.
Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight:
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for multiple units.
Multi-State Compliance:
Ensure compliance with state-specific accounting regulations and tax requirements.
Stay abreast of changes in financial regulations across all states of operation.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
Provide insightful analysis of financial performance and variances.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor budgets.
Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts to support business planning.
Audit Preparation:
Coordinate and lead the preparation for internal and external audits.
Work closely with auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and excellence.
Develop and strengthen the capabilities of the accounting team.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance financial efficiency.
Streamline accounting processes to accommodate the multi-state nature of operations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with other departments, including operations and finance, to ensure alignment of financial goals with overall business objectives.
Act as a financial advisor to support decision-making.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Accounting Manager, preferably in the retail industry with multi-state operations.
Strong understanding of multi-state tax regulations and compliance requirements.
CPA designation is highly preferred.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
